Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapons Applications Procedures

Please follow the step by step directions laid out by the Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapons Instructions below.

In order to apply or renew your CCDW at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, you must be a resident of Warren County!

Step 1

Contact an instructor from the list. (Please see PDF file of all the CCDW instructors in Kentucky. Warren County instructors are listed near the bottom of the list.) Once you have completed the training, you will receive a certificate of training.

When you receive your certificate of training, the easiest and quickest way to apply/renew is ONLINE at https://kspportal.ky.gov/CCDW/Public/Login.aspx.

 

You can also walk in to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Records Section to complete the application process with our office. Contact us by phone at (270) 842-1633 if you have any questions. The Records Section’s normal business hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00- 4:30 P.M. closed on Warren County holidays. Walk-ins welcome.

Step 3

When you come in to the Sheriff’s Office, you will need the following:

  • Certificate of completion of training.
  • Photograph (KAR 6:030 and KSP Policy advises photo must be a head and shoulders shot. No hats, no glasses, and no glare on your facial features.) Digital and computer generated photographs are PROHIBITED. Photograph must be no less than 3 Yz” by 4″ and not to exceed 4″ by 5″.) Passport photos WILL be accepted.

CCDW Photo Regulations:

WCSO STAFF CAN TAKE AN ACCEPTABLE PHOTO FOR $5.00

Step 4

Payment must be made as follows:

  • Cash, Check, or Money order for $20.00 must be made to Warren County Sheriff. (If you have a photo made at our office the total to WCSO is $25.00)
  • A check or money order for $40.00 must be made to Kentucky State Treasurer. The payment will be submitted with your application, certificate, and photograph by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Step 5

Once WCSO submits your information, the KSP will conduct a background check and issue a notification I notice of issuance to the mailing address listed on your application.

Step 6

Once you have received your notification in the mail from KSP, contact WCSO to make sure your permit has arrived. If your permit has arrived, bring the notification in during normal business hours and sign for your permit.
